History

It was established in 1972 and is now directed by Assistant Professor V. F. Gruzhevskaya

Assistant Professors: V. F. Gruzhevskaya (history of physical culture, Olympic sports, theory and methods of physical training), E. I. Yatskevich (theory and methods of physical training) V. V. Shyshlakov (theory and methods of physical training, organisation and methods of mass physical culture, sport metrology, introduction to speciality) and D. V. Syshko (theory and methods of physical training, professional sports, physical culture and sports management, computers and teaching appliances);
Senior Instructor: E. P. Pichugin (theory and methods of physical training, tourism, sport marketing, history of physical culture, Olympic sports);
Instructor A. V. Mutiev (theory and methods of physical training, tourism, Olympic sports).

Areas of Research

Medical and biological justification of physical training systems.
Members of the Department published over 200 academic works. The Department widely participates in international and republican conferences. 14 postgraduate students have completed their studies at the Department.
