The Summer Institute was held in 21-31 May, 2001 and consisted of seven modules.

Training announcement in newspapers, radio and TV was prepared and published, the participants selection for the Summer Institute was fulfilled and it turned out 68 participants would like to get training at Summer Institute.

Each module run for 1 - 2 days and was lectured by Dr Eric Rahimian and Dr Uchenna Elike.

The format of training sessions consisted of a structured classroom type instruction and visiting private enterprises: Marble Caves Tourist agency, Simferopol experimental Plant and PhIOLENT Corp. Participants were provided with a workbook containing a detailed outline of the course in each module. The Project Director , Dr. Onuma Okezie, accompanied the instructors from AAMU.

At the beginning of the Summer Institute a database was created (using the prepared registration form completed by the participants) that provides a baseline of information on the participants: complete mailing address, phone numbers and e-mail address if available.

Every day DAILY EVALUATION form was used to examine the results and participants' progress in getting knowledge. This Daily Evaluation forms were translated into English and put as an additional data to know the participants impressions and ideas about the Summer Institute.

Fifty-one persons satisfactorily completed the training. Certificates of Satisfactory Completion were awarded to the participants at a very nice graduation ceremony.

According to the assessments obtained the Summer Institute could be considered as a successful one.
