History

It was established in 1999 as the result of reorganisation of the Faculty of Economics and Management. It is now directed by Professor V. A. Podsolonko.

General Information

Students obtain specialities 'Management of Organizations' and 'Foreign Economic Operations' Management Students with the speciality 'Management of Organization specialize in five areas: business management; commodity and services market management; hotel, health recreation and tourist services management; personnel management; and natural resources management.
There were 700 students of all years and types of studies in 2000. Graduates of the Faculty receive the Qualification of Economic Manager and the Degree of Specialist.
The Faculty has the following divisions: the Research Centre for Management of Social and Economic Development of Businesses and Regions, which comprises the Crimean Section of the Ukrainian Association of Regional Sciences.
The Faculty has a section of the Consulting Services Centre of the Business and Management ConsultingUniversity, and the Centre for Cooperation of Universities of Southern Ukraine and Europe.

Areas of Research

Development of an institutional and economic mechanism for economic restructuring of Ukrainian regions (the Crimean region is used as an example);
methodological justification of the program for sustainable development; curricula and work schedules modelling based on professional qualifications and official position approach; orientation of economic and geographic regions of Ukraine towards the world level of market development; management principles of development of the Black Sea regions of Ukraine; institutional principles for coherent management of the integral development of Ukraine, its regions and industrial sectors; informatisation policy in the Republic of Crimea, etc.

Academic and Educational Relations

The Faculty has a student exchange agreement with the Perpignan University for students specializing in hotel, health recreation and tourist services management and an agreement on distant and resident education for students of other specialities who are then eligible to receive a French diploma of higher education. The Faculty expands its relations with other universities in Ukraine and other neighbouring and distant countries.
The Faculty actively participates in the following international projects:
Improved Methods of Education and Wider Opportunities in Business and Management Studies in Taurida National University, Ukraine in the Context of Market Economy (Alabama, the United States);
Support of Management Studies in the Crimea (TACIS)
Joint European Project on Environmental Economics in the South of Ukraine (TACIS-Tempus);
Corporate Management in Ukraine (Canadian International Development Agency);
Consortium for Business Education Development in Ukraine (U.S. Agency for International Development), etc.
