The Faculty of Law | THE
FACULTY OF LAW
Alexander V. Timoshchuk, professor,
doctor of law sciences
The formation of the Faculty of Law in Taurida
University has a long and dramatic history. The decision to organize the University
in Simferopol was made in pre-revolutionary Russia, but it was postponed because
of the World War I. Then Kiev University made a decision to open its branch in
Crimea, but revolutionary events prevented it from being fulfilled. Faculty of
Law was opened in 1918 and was functioning up to 1920. As powers changed very
often at that time, their attitude to the Faculty of Law was different. Soviets
banned it, the White Guard restored it. Great financial assistance was offered
to the Faculty of Law by Baron P. I. Vrangel. | ||||||||||||||||
