The Department has three specialisations: economy and social
geography; recreational economy, tourism and excursion business; and country studies
and international tourist management. 20 special courses are offered to students
here, including economic statistics, fundamentals of market economy, marketing
and management, excursion and museum studies, recreational and hotel business,
fundamentals of geopolitics, etc.

They lecture
eight core courses: fundamentals of social geography, economic and social geography
of Ukraine, geography of world economy, regional economic geography, geography
of population with fundamentals of ethnography, technological and economic fundamentals
of production, geography teaching methods. iIssues related to improving efficiency of natural
resources utilisation and territorial organisation of sociogeographic systems
of the South economic region of Ukraine and the Crimea; recreational geography;
organisation of tourism and excursions; and evaluation of recreational resources
and planning. A new academic school of political geography is developing at this
Faculty in the recent years to cover such areas as electoral geography, regionalisation,
globalistics, and geopolitics. |
