Alexander V. Volyar, professor,
doctor of physico-mathematical sciences
It was established in 1918 with the assistance of Academician A.F.Ioffe. It is now directed by Professor A.V.Voliar
Professor A.V.Volyar (quantum electronics,
nonlinear optics, waves in heterogeneous medium, theory of oscillations, theory
of waves in heterogeneous medium);
Students graduate as physicists specializing in
applied electrodynamics and electrophysics. Students are trained in fields related
to design, construction and operation of electrotechnical and electromechanical
devices, nontraditional energy sources, instrument-making and electric machine
engineering organisation of optical structures), S.N.Lapaeva (fiberoptic sensors,
geometrical optics of heterogeneous mediums), T.A.Fadeeva (mode theory of waveguides,
computer modelling, singular optics, theoretical foundations of fiber optics)
and V.I.Shostka (fiberoptic communication lines, anisotropic medium optics, optic
sensors, semiconductor oscillator); Assistant V.G.Shvedov (theory of inhomogeneous
waves).
The scientific researrches are carried out in
Singular optics, in particular, annihilation and evolution of optical vortexes in heterogeneous mediums.
Analysis and synthesis of electromagnetic fields, calculation and optimisation of electrotechnical instruments and constructions; synthesis ofelecare maintained with the Institute of Physics and Applied Holography, the NASU Institute of Physics, Chernovtsy State University, the RAS Lebedev Physical Institute, Vavilov State Optical Institute, the University of Queensland Brisbane (Australia), H. H. Wills Physical Laboratory (Bristol, the United Kingdom). The University participates in the following international programs: Singular Optics, Correlation Optics, and UNTT P-051 Project on Optical Vortices Understanding and Assessment. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
